Come out to volleyball intramurals at lunch to have some fun. Tuesdays for seniors, Wednesday's for juniors, and Thursday's for grade 8's. If you have nothing to do at lunch bring your friends to come and play (or watch) some volleyball, listen to some great tunes, and cheer on your fellow teammates. Also possibly score some candy and be featured on @SDRECLEADERSHIP for great serves, dives or blocks!
Last night, our very own South Delta Sun Devils beat Southridge in an exciting 4-round game. The mass amounts of excitement in the stands made the game even better. Amazing serves from Amy Hendrickson, Sarah Forester and Michaela Hayes, and some hard spikes from Bree Ghallager! The girls won the first and second game, then Southridge pulled ahead in the 3rd round, just scraping by. But the 4th round led SDSS to victory, 3-1. Great dives by Karolynne Bezerra, and some game-saving blocks by Gaby Rondou, Sarah Waterfall, and Nicola Bancroft. Great game girls! Good luck on your tournament this weekend, and keep up this winning streak!

Yesterday, the senior boys played a game against Seaquam Secondary. Some nail bitting saves by Simon Raderecht as well as some big kicks and amazing footwork from Jack Chadd, and Cameron Kline. Some sweet defending by Otto Wilborn, as well as awesome plays sent by Jason Crump and Giacomo Gulmini in midfield. Goal scorer, Jonah Jackson, brought the team to glory, winning 1-0. 2 yellow cards and 1 red card were handed out in an aggressive match between the 2 teams. Congrats Devils on this victory, keep it comin'!

A few pictures from some terrific volleyball games last Tuesday! Congrats to Amy Hendrickson, Morgan Bouchey and Sophie Schuurman Hess for an outstanding game. Good job girls!
The senior team played some really good games last weekend(Nov.26-27), and managed to win the games. Great job! The Senior girls also have a game this weekend! They are practicing hard, and will do their best.
The Snow Devils is a club where you get to go skiing with your friends. The Snow Devils go to Whistler twice and to Grouse eight times. I think the best part about this club is that you get to connect with people you did not know already. If you like skiing or snowboarding you should look at this club and join for next year. Memberships are limited, so get them while you can.
Gymnastics. A sport of strength flexibility and grace! Most people don't know but the school actually has a team! We practise out in Ladner at Delta Gymnastics. You might think that you need to be flexible to do gymnastics, and you do, but really you can build that even if you have no experience! The school team is diminishing as we loose the grade 12's when the graduate so come on out! The more the better the chance at a provincial title! Even if gymnastics might not be the sport for you, come support the team at one of the competitions!

The South Delta Sundevils Juniors team played the North Delta Huskies last Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 after school at around 3 pm. Though I only saw a couple of minutes of the game, it was evident the Sundevils were playing strongly while the Huskies struggled to keep up, only tying the game once while I was there.
On Wednesday, November 5th, the Grade 8 volleyball team played the Delta Pacers in the semi-finals for the Delta Cup after school in the East Gym. They held a pretty consistent lead throughout the afternoon. If they win this game, they will move on to play either the Seaquam Seahawks or the Burnsview Griffins on Thursday, November 6th in the finals for the Delta Cup. The winners will move on to the Fraser Valley Championships.
