![]() Wade “Crybaby” Walker is the head member of a gang of “drapes”; Wanda, Pepper, Milton, and Mona “Hatchetface”, during the early 50’s. Crybaby is the coolest, toughest juvenile delinquent in Baltimore, and his ability to shed a single tear drives all the girls wild, particularly Alison Vernon-Williams, a pretty girl fed up with being a “square”. Will she put aside her proper, respectable ways and defy her fellow “squares” to be with Crybaby? Despite Alison’s respectable grandmother, Mrs. Vernon Williams’, scepticism, she joins Crybaby and his drape pals to hang out at Turkey Point, Crybaby’s hangout place to sing with him at the “Jukebox Jamboree”. Mrs. Vernon-Williams, still not convinced of Crybaby’s love for Alison and musical talent, needs persuading to become a “drape” herself. Starring a very young Johnny Depp, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, and notorious “godfather of punk rock” Iggy Pop, this 1990 comedy is a parody of teen musicals, and is similar to 1977 major motion picture “Grease”. Watch it with a friend for a good laugh! This is one of my favourite movies, and, appropriate for all ages, I’d recommend it to anyone! -Gabriella Hall
