Half Moon Run
Half Moon Run is a band from Comox, Montreal and Ontario. The band is composed of Devon Portielje, Connor Molander and Dylan Phllips. Their album, Dark Eyes, has eleven folk songs on it that will have you listening to them on repeat for hours. (which is what I'm doing as I'm writing this review).
The website link I just included is their official website and it includes a preview of each of their songs and photos from their tours. The songs below are called "Full Circle" and "Call Me In the Afternoon." Enjoy!
Have you heard of Alt-J? They’re a British indie rock band that has been making some “awesome waves”. Alt-J is quite unique for their electronic, trip hop quirkiness. The quartet is composed of Gwil Sainsbury, Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green. Originally formed in 2010, they’ve released an EP in 2011 and they’ve only just released their first album, An Awesome Wave in September. The album won the 2012 Barclaycard Mercury Prize, the 2012 British Mercury Prize and BBC’s Radio 6 music album of the year in 2012. My personal favorite is Taro, but I would also listen to Something Good.
You can also watch them live on Triple J’s “Like A Version”. The actual song starts at 1:30.
