The music was good, the food was great, and the company was even better! This past Thursday, the school's annual Winter Formal was held in the cafeteria for this year's graduating class. The evening started at 6pm - and after waiting outside in the freezing cold in a line for what felt like forever, we got inside and past the security check. The school was literally transformed - I forgot that we were actually there!
Everyone danced until it was time for dinner, and then we all sat down waiting patiently (well, not really) for our table to be called. The food was SO good. Mr. Worobetz and some of his students put together an amazing buffet for the event. Once we had taken some time to digest the unholy amount of food we had just consumed, it was time for more dancing. There was a dance-off hosted by the DJ Beyond Sound, between Delaney Griffiths, Sasha Ballon, Danielle Downie, Taylor Bamford and William Kraynyk (who referred to himself as 'Willy-K'). Sasha came through victorious, and won herself and 5 friends meals at Vera's Burger Shack! You go girl!
There was also a photo-booth which is always a crowd-pleaser, and Will Shelling gracefully portrayed the role of Santa Claus who everyone could take pictures with.
Congratulations to the Grad Council for putting together an amazing evening, and a special thanks to the presidents Victoria Schoen and Marina Reynolds and teacher sponsors Ms. Koot and Ms. Van Vlit for leading the troops!
Happy Holidays SDSS!
