Just last Friday, September 26th, a week later than most, was South Delta Secondary's Terry Fox Run! Blocks were shortened to make 4o minutes worth of time before lunch for the run, which was sadly done in the rain once again (what is going on with that??). A couple of changes were made this year by Student Council co-presidents Demaris Poje and Brianna Grayson to get people in the spirit; posters and signs were put up around the school, including a large one marking our fundraising goal ($2600), and stickers were given out asking students who they were running for. After writing their answer, students could stick their sticker onto their body throughout the run before placing them on the boards in the main hallway near the office. It definitely worked as it seemed more students were running, the first runner passing by being Megan Massel in Grade 11. Cheering on students throughout the route were also Student Council volunteers and various teachers to help keep the spirit up. On Friday morning, we were halfway through to reaching our goal of $2600 - according to the poster, we had just past the $1250 mark! It was a great start to the numerous events happening this year!
