Polio is a contagious and potentially fatal illness. However, it is easily preventable with a simple vaccine. Polio isn't so much a problem in first world countries as it is for countries in the Eastern hemisphere and has a tendency to affect young children. This year, our school's Interact Club has taken matters in their own hands by holding their second annual Polio campaign. Thursday, October 24th is "Wear Purple for Polio" day because when children get their polio vaccine, the health administrator dyes the tip of their pinky purple. The 'A' block class with the largest percentage of purple attire will win a "Purple Prize Pack"! They are hosting a draw as well, where anybody wearing purple is allowed to enter to win an amazing prize.
Their booth, set up in the middle hallway, is available for becoming educated about polio and supporting their events to join forces and eradicate Polio everywhere!
