![]() Valentine’s Day marked the Sun Devils’ Junior Girls Division Basketball Championships win against their rivals, the Delta Pacers. The Pacers definitely raised their game since the last time we played them, almost tying with us in the first quarter. During the second quarter, they were tied with us for a moment with 10 points. Thankfully, we were able to raise our points with help from Flavia Guerreiro (#6), who shot behind the three-point line as shown in the video below. The third quarter started with Julia Adams (#9) who shot a perfect layup, leaving the Pacers trailing behind her. Later, she and Emily Maunder took a couple of foul shots but sadly, neither of them made it. Jessica Hasker also made two baskets and the whole team took many shots. The Pacers slowly started to catch up in the last quarter, making it the tensest out of all of them, but the Sun Devils managed to stay ahead. The Delta Pacers gained eight points due to penalty shots, mostly thanks to #1, however the Sun Devils defended their basket well and prevented the Pacers from any more hoops. Though the Pacers took the last shot (and didn’t make it), the Sun Devils won 33 to 27. Kathryn Lehmann and Jill Calvert were presented with a plaque at the end of the game and the whole team posed for photos. Next are the Fraser Valleys. Congratulations and good luck in the future!
