Last week our senior girls basketball team played against Earl Marriott in a nail biting game. With Earl Marriott in the lead after the second half it wasn't looking good for SD. The team had an amazing turn around for the end of the game. In the final seconds SD managed to make a shot that put them in the lead by one point. The crowd in the final 30 seconds was cheering for their teams to hold their defense or shoot. The game ended in a big win for the girls who were all ecstatic about the close game. Amazing game girls!
Last Saturday, on November 16th the senior boys football team had a very tough game in the playoffs, against Notre Dame. Kick off was at 7:30 at BC Place Stadium. Unfortunately the boys gave it their all but the final score 28-15 for Notre Dame. This may be due to the fact that some key players were unable to play due to injuries, including star quarterback. The boys had an amazing season winning every game, up until their last, congratulations boys!
This week our cross country team participated in a meet at Creasant Park in Surrey. Our students for SDSS preformed very well at the meet on Wednesday. One of our grade 9 girls, Gemma, placed 3rd at the meet. Ryder and Adamo also had exceptional races last Wednesday. Congrats SD students!

Our senior boys and girls relay team came 3rd and are both advancing onto Fraser Valleys. Our grade 8 girls relay team had an outstanding race and came first overall! Our senior girls team before the big race.
Yesterday the senior boys rugby team, had their first game of the season at our home field, against Langley. With a big crowd out to watch the game, everyone was excited with high spirits. The moment the game began it was clear that Langley didn't have a chance at winning against SD. Defence did an outstanding job ending the game with a shut out! While Offence managed to get around the other teams defence multiple times, with ease. Everybody did an exceptional job and had the perfect game to start the season, keep it up boys!

The grade 8 girls basketball team played DSS in the district finals, yesterday, on February 9th. It was a hard fought and intense game, between the girls. At half time DSS was up 22-13 and although the SD girls gave it their all, in the second half, they didn't manage to catch up. Better luck next time girls!
