![]() Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner hail from New Zealand, specifically, Mt Eden. The duo started making dubstep, more specifically, drum and base, at around 12 years old. They started to post some of their music, notably “Sierra Leone” and two remixes, one “Silence”, by Sarah McLachlan and “Still Alive”, by Lisa Miskovsky on a Youtube account, created by Rayner’s brother. They released their first EP, “Med’s”, in 2010, and in 2013, Cooper and Rayner signed to Ultra Records. Their “Walking on Air” EP was released in June and they should have a full length album done by the end of this year. While it’s not grimey, it’s more like chillstep with synths and various drum beats. Some of their songs are upbeat like Air Walker and Chasing, others are slower. Don’t expect any crazy bass drops from the like of Skrillex or Datsik, but more like Zeds Dead. The duo is known for introducing people to the dubstep genre, but their music is pretty basic. -Tera Meschino
