![]() It certainly felt like the construction of the Science Hall was never ending in September, but we've finally discovered that's not true. With eight new classrooms, gleaming lockers (too bad they're half the size!), modern designs and updated bathrooms, the cold walks to the portables, along with the many detours to the library (at least for me!), were well worth it. Science classes finally returned back to their classrooms during the first week of November, with eager students awaiting to see the new changes. It seems the only negative feedback that could be given is the classroom sizes, which have significantly shrunken since the Superlab takes up half of the hallway's space. It's too bad construction won't end there. Next, as we've already seen, classrooms 101 - 103 and 106 - 108 will be relocated to the portables, allowing their hallways to get structural updates to walls and foundations, until Winter Break. Not only will we have to walk in the cold once more, but locker users in those hallways will be moved to the Science Hall - a very enjoyable experience for those who don't take science classes, I'm sure. Then, in January, classes in the third hallway across from the library will be renovated, also receiving structural updates to walls and foundations. Construction workers will finally move on to the Shop Blocks near Spring Break. At least the library will be left alone until the Summer along with the Administration Blocks, a relief to many students including myself. The entire school will also receive non-structural seismic resistance upgrades which involves plumbing, electrical and overhead system changes. Construction will finally cease September 2014, an improvement from the previous estimated time, November 2014. Aamenah Meghjee
