Last Friday, September 13th marked this year's Grade 8s' annual kick-off to their upcoming high school years! Provided by Link Crew, the day at Deas Island Regional Park consisted of many fun games and activities. Different clubs from around the school set up a couple activities, including Slam Poetry and theatrical sports. South Delta Secondary did a phenomenal job picking activities they knew we, the Grade 8s, would like. One of the activities, PlayPodz, where one just played video games, was very popular. And on top of that, compliments of the Deas Island Regional Park retreat, the Grade 8s were given tie-dye SDSS t-shirts! The activities were so creative and original that I'm sure all of the Grade 8s hope it will be continued in the future. All I know is that it was way better than we had expected!
