Friday, November 29 is the annual Black Friday shopping spree day. Be prepared for long lineups and crazy customers if you decide to go shopping on this day, because everyone will be trying to take advantage of the discounted prices for the limited quantity of stock. Although Black Friday is best known for stores lowering their prices on the Friday, there are actually sales starting before and leading up to the day. Many stores even continue their sales for the course of the whole weekend, and if going to highly crowded malls are not your thing, cyber Monday will have online only deals for you to search through so that everyone gets a chance to save.
On November 19th, 2019 more that 19 thousand students gathered in Roger's Arena.
Their motivation, to make change. For the last 10 years, WE Day Vancouver has brought students together to hear inspirational stories and presentations, and to learn how to make change. This year we learned about the struggles of mental health from Lorna Rasmussen, that we can do anything from Rick Hansen, and that the world needs us from Wali Shah. Sprinkled among the day’s speakers were performances by musical artists, including Serena Ryder, Tyler Shaw, Bishop Briggs and Daya. You can check out photos from WE Day on my Instagram, @liam.murray_sdss - Liam Murray The deadline for applying to audition for performing in this year’s Extravaganza has been extended to the end of next week. If you are interested in auditioning to show off your talents at the SDSS’ greatest show on earth, apply from the front page of the school website or drop off tour audition application form at the office by the end of next week. Audition schedules will be released the week after. Take part in Extrav and perform to celebrate Christmas at SDSS!
