For the month of January, The SDSS “Me to We Club” held a battery drive.
Over 2000 used household alkaline batteries were collected. Did you know that zinc from batteries helps saves lives? Many children in third world countries do not get enough zinc in their diets, BUT one AA battery contains enough zinc to save six children with life threatening zinc deficiencies. Recycled batteries go to a sorting facility where the materials, chemicals and metals, including zinc, are extracted and reused. Thanks SDSS for supporting our Battery Drive and helping the health of students in third world communities. Family day is the perfect day to spend time with your family. What are you doing for family day? Sleeping, spending time with family, studying, watching tv or maybe even gaming? Family day is the best day to just chillax with your fam and enjoy yourself! Have a good family day!
-Liette & Elise Holy cow! Snow? Really?! We never get snow here. (Or hardly ever anyway) A little yesterday and a blizzard this morning and it’s expected to get worse 🥶🌨. Brrrr such a change for us, but hey if you think about it; just be thankful we’re not in Toronto where it’s REALLY cold (lol) 😁
-Jason Support the art students of SDSS by coming to the cafeteria next Wednesday, February 13th to witness music by the choir, a performance by the X-block musical, acts by individual students, an auction and more. It starts at 6:00pm; it's drop in so feel free to come and go as you please. This fundraiser is for the students hoping to travel to Seattle this year and to support the music/art department. Hope to see you there!
